Torii Bold is characterised by the contrast between the large, softly rounded volumes of the upholstery and the lightness of the metal base structure on which it rests.
A family of seats created from the original iconic Torii design by Nendo studio, that retains the morphology of the backrest unchanged, while presenting a more solid and compact aesthetic: the two families dialogue harmoniously with each other in a clever interplay of full and empty volumes.
The slim backrest is punctuated by a vertical quilting effect and piping, in eco-leather or eco-nubuck, that outlines the perimeter of the upholstery: sartorial details that emphasise the couture aspect of the craftsmanship.
SOFA structure
Seat in plywood of various thicknesses. The structure is coated in high-resilience, variable-density polyurethane foam. Metal backrest coated in high-resilience polyurethane foam, encased in breathable heat-bonded fibre laminated to white, hypoallergenic cotton fabric to lend softness.
ARMCHAIR structure
Seat in plywood of various thicknesses. The structure is coated in high-resilience, variable-density polyurethane foam. Metal backrest coated in flame-resistant polyurethane foam, and then encased in breathable, hypoallergenic laminated fibre for added softness. The backrest/armrest structure and internal casing on sofas and armchairs features a quilted vertical slat pattern finished with double stitching. A piping around the perimeter of the backrest and the seat cushion defines the edge of the upholstery. If the client has not specified the piping colour on the order, the choice will be determined by the company. The piping is made of eco-leather and/or eco-nubuck (a dry-cleanable material) and comes in the following colours: — Eco-Leather: White, Cloud, Sand, Havana, Ice, Chestnut, Peat, Baltic, Burgundy, Smoke, Cast-Iron, Black, Mustard, Cognac, Corten; — Eco-Nabuk: Cloud, Mink, Ice, Moka, Baltic, Burgundy, Moss, Charcoal, Green, Cognac, Corten, Granite, Curry. Seat cushion upholstery features top stitching.
Cushions
Backrest cushion padding in channelled goose down undergoes routine sanitization as specified in EC Regulation No. 1069/2009 (Assopiuma certified, Gold Label) with core insert in high-resilience, variable-density polyurethane foam.
Covers
Structure and backrest cushions are completely removable in all versions (fabric and leather).
Feet
Made of 25 mm ? solid metal rods, varnished Bronze colour with polished anti-fingerprint finish; tip and decorative element in brass, Black-Nickel finish. Black protective SEBS glides.
Swivel base for ARMCHAIRS
In metal, varnished polished Bronze colour anti-fingerprint finish, 360° swivel with return. Black protective SEBS glides.
The ottomans have 4 castors with 360° swivel, structure in nylon thermoplastic polyurethane rubber.
INFORMATION REGARDING PIPING WHEN IT IS DETERMINED BY THE COMPANY
— all-fabric upholstery version: the piping (eco-leather and/or eco-nabuk) will be contrasting but in the same colour family as the fabric; — all-leather upholstery version: piping will be in the same leather chosen for the upholstery. The piping is always made of eco-leather and/or eco-nabuk, except when the piece is completely upholstered in leather.
