Inspired by 1970s aesthetics, the Libra armchair designed by Giampiero Tagliaferri is composed of overlapping soft volumes of the seat, backrest, and headrest, upholstered in leather or fabric, embellished with precise stitching at the centre of the cushions that amplifies the tailored and three-dimensional effect.
An interplay of volumetric balances from which it also takes its name: Libra, in Latin, means scale. The refined curling along the entire perimeter of the padded volumes of the berg?re, armchair, ottoman and dining little armchair is finished with a piping, which carefully shapes the soft folds of the upholstery, enhancing its sophisticated artisanal craftsmanship. The unique metal base consists of tubular legs and a curvilinear plate that supports the seat.
Structure
In metal, with high-rubber-content elastic webbing, coated in fire-resistant polyurethane foam and additional covering in temperature-sensitive material (Memory Foam). The structure is then encased in breathable heat-bonded quilted fibre laminated to white hypoallergenic cotton fabric for added softness. Tailoring of the slipcover features soft top-stitching.
Covers
Upholstery is completely removable in both the fabric and leather versions.
Base
Composed of 8 mm thick bent sheet metal, varnished matt Black or polished Black Coffee colour. Completing the base are cylindrical metal bars, ? 25 mm, varnished polished Black Coffee paired with the base with polished Black Coffee finish, or with polished chrome finish paired with the base varnished matt Black. Black polyethylene glides; also included 30 mm H glides, recommended for use on rugs.
