Signed by the eclectic Japanese studio Nendo, directed by Oki Sato, Tape is a collection of seats with a strong personality, characterised by the light silhouette, and consists of a comprehensive range of models: armchair with and without armrests, lounge armchair, berg?re, two and three seater sofa and ottoman.
With his distinctive ironic approach, the designer overturns the traditional idea of the support feet that come out of the body of the seat, placing them externally to the structure.
Tape owes its name to the couture detail, conceived as a piece of ribbon that holds the Bronze-coloured metal feet.
Structure
Solid wood with high natural rubber content elastic strap webbing. Backrest is coated in fire-resistant polyurethane foam and the seat in variable density polyurethane foam. Backrest and seat cased in breathable heat-bonded fiber laminated to white hypoallergenic cotton fabric for added softness.
Cushions
Backrest cushion padding in heat-bonded fiber with center insert in polyurethane foam.
Covers
Backrest and structure cushion upholstery covers are completely removable in all versions (fabric and leather).
Base
Metal painted with a polish antifingerprint Bronze varnished. The front legs are protected by a strip of curved metal in the same finish as the base. The back legs have a leather or saddle-hide trim. Adjustable stainless-steel feet painted Bronze colour. Black protective polyethylene glides.
INFORMATION REGARDING UPHOLSTERY AND COVERS
A) upholstered completely in fabric or leather; B) upholstery of backrest structure in Napa leather — Extra grade leather category — and backrest cushions and seat cushions in fabric; C) upholstery of seat back structure in Aspen leather or Nabuk Lodge leather – Natural leather category — and backrest cushions and seat cushions in fabric.
N.B.
When the backrest is upholstered in leather, the posterior trim is made of the same leather; when the backrest is upholstered in fabric, the trim is in Bronze colour saddle-hide. To facilitate removal of upholstery covers, the backrest can be removed from the base through a system of quick set and release closures.
